Pediatric Soft Contact Lenses
Are you ready to see the world in a whole new way?
Wearing contact lenses is like having superpowers for your eyes—no more worrying about glasses slipping down your nose or getting in the way when you’re running, playing sports, or just having fun!
At your contact lens appointment, you’ll get to learn all the cool things about wearing contacts, like how easy they are to put in and take out, and how comfortable they feel. It’s your chance to try something new, feel more confident, and enjoy all your favorite activities without any limits.
Whether you’re playing sports, riding your bike, dancing, or exploring outside, your lenses will help you see clearly without having to worry about glasses falling off or getting in the way. Plus, you can wear any pair of sunglasses you like. Great job on taking this exciting step—you’re ready for all the adventures ahead!
Here is a great video to watch Violet who is 11 and wears MiSight soft contact lenses, to watch how she puts in her lenses and takes them out by herself!
Do’s and Don’t for Wearing Soft Contact Lenses
DO
Wash your hands with soap and water before touching your lenses
Hold your upper and lower eyelid as close to the lashes as possible.
Put them on gently and let your contacts hug your eye before removing your finger too quickly.
Take off your lenses gently.
Always use fresh contact lens solution to clean and store your lenses (if not daily disposable).
Ask our office for help if you’re not sure about something!
DON’T
Don’t sleep in your soft contact lenses (these are different than ortho-k lenses made for sleeping!)
Don’t use tap or sink water to clean your lenses
Don’t share your contact lenses with anyone else
Don’t wear your contacts if your eyes feel irritated
